After working in Project Planning for 38 years, I am just about to give up!
Both MS Project and Primavera allow one to record progress to a task even if the predecessor/s have not started.
Eg: You can build a roof even though you have not started the walls.
Worse still, is that both programs allow this to happen in the future. So these programs also come with built-in Time Machines.
